Engagement photos

Most brides aren’t models and may not feel comfortable in front of the camera – and the same goes for their partners. For most wedding photographers, this doesn’t make a difference as a good photographer will be able to effortlessly capture all the beautiful moments of love and joy, without ever being noticed or disruptive. However, you may be dreaming of capturing that amazing pinterest-worthy photo.

Many couples are now doing engagement photo shoots. You can consider this your practice run. Fall Weddings in the Hudson Valley

This Sunday is the Autumnal Equinox and we’re sure that you have already started to feel it coming. With the crisp mornings and the quick drop in temperature with the setting sun, you’ve probably noticed that Fall is on its way. And if the weather isn’t enough of an indicator for you, then if you have ventured out to the local grocery store, coffee shop, or even bar then you have probably noticed the emergence of pumpkin-flavored everything!

With all that said, may we now announce that FALL IS HERE! What an exciting time of the year. Fall is a time for the senses. Aside from the plentiful pumpkin flavorings for your palate to choose from, your eyes are treating to Mother Nature’s show with the changing of the leaves. Fall also has a certain smell that some may crave year-round. And there is no better place to experience the amazing colors than here in the Hudson Valley. People from far and wide floods the small streets of the area to come and see the scenery of the Shawangunk Mountains dressed up on its orange, red, yellow leaves.

The scenery is beautiful and the weather is cool and refreshing and this is just a wonderful time of year for a wedding. Given the colors that are naturally landscaping the area, weddings now have a beautiful backdrop for some amazing photos. Fall-time weddings are often decorated to coordinate with the foliage with rich, earthy tones like oranges, deep yellows, greens, browns that can be complemented with rich ruby or deep eggplants accents. The color palette of many weddings takes on new life during this time of year that translates into a sophisticated looking event. For the rustic-inspired Fall event, gourds, pumpkins, and changing leaves can be incorporated into an event’s décor.

So enjoy some apple cider, or some pumpkin doughnut – after all, Tis the Season!

All that being said, it feels a bit overwhelming. Each bride feels it at some point –whether its the first time you dress shopped and you nearly suffocated in a cloud of white fabrics you never knew existed, or when you start visiting venues and realize that you’ll never be able to pick just one (the same goes for photographer, flowers, foods, and pretty much everything else associated with your big day), or when you meet with your bridesmaids and realize that there is a dress in every style and color imaginable to choose from. The bottom line is that wedding decisions can be stressful. But what is one of the most wonderful things about being a bride today is the resources that you have right at your fingertips.

Lippincott Manor Awarded Wedding Wire Award for Reviews

Lippincott Manor has been awarded with a Wedding Wire silver badge rating! Thanks to all of the reviews that our couples have given, owners Tricia and Marty Van Dyk are honored to have received this award and have accepted it with nothing but gratitude to their past couples.

What makes this a special award is the power that a review has. When a couple that is considering Lippincott Manor for their special day, they usually come to visit the facility. During this visit, Tricia and Marty walk them through the grounds, showing them the beautiful views of the Shawangunk Mountains and the Wallkill River that will surround their ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, while presenting the service that the couple will receive, the food and drinking packages that they can choose from and telling them of the special care that they both take to ensure that each and every wedding lives up to every expectation.

If you are planning a wedding and still looking at venues, or you have already been through the process, then you know that every event coordinator has nothing but the best to present you with. It is at this point where the power of a review is really proven. Depending on the type of bride you are, you may have already researched as much information as possible on the venue, including reviews from past couples. If not, this is your chance to go find them and hear a couple’s firsthand experience at a specific venue. And this could be the defining moment when you decide where to have your wedding.

Thanks to Web sites such as Wedding Wire potential clients now have a chance to hear how a couple felt about their experience. Every review is written as a couple relives their day and shares how they truly felt about their wedding and the venue that they chose.

So as the wedding professionals Tricia and Marty Van Dyk would recommend, if you are looking to choose a venue, go read the reviews to really get a sense of a venue and to help you decide which one is right for you. And to all the married couples out there, please take the time to write a review of your venue. Remember, you were once looking for the perfect setting for your special day.
