A wedding is something that for most only happen once in a lifetime. It is important to any couple that not only the wedding go as planned, but also that they have the amenities that are important to them and their guests that will make the event a memorable one.

Those Extra Touches Can Make the Event One to Remember Forever

While it is important to stay within a budget for your wedding, the extra enhancements can really add that special something to make your wedding stand out. One area where couples tend to splurge is in an open bar, serving top shelf liquor for their guests. This is a nice touch, but generally not necessary for the enjoyment of the wedding and few guests will even remember the type of liquor served after the event.

At Lippincott Manor we offer this type of open bar, fully stocked with top shelf liquor. However, the types of amenities that really make a wedding stand out are often those that are more unique. These can include our roaring bonfire, complete with all of the fixings for toasting marshmallows and making your own s’mores. Guests can enjoy the sweets, all while taking in the ambiance that a bonfire can offer.

How to Simplify Your Wedding Reception Seating Plan

The seating plan for an upcoming wedding reception can cause a lot of headaches, from trying to fit personalities that will go well together to keeping those that may clash apart.  The pressure is on to design a seating plan that will suit everyone.  At times it may seem like putting together the seating chart is nothing short of rocket science.  However, there are actually some tricks to make this planning a little easier.

Separating Bride and Groom Sides

One of the first questions that you need to decide is if there will be a well-defined side for the bride and one for the groom.  There are many advantages to keeping the sides separated, as these guests will be those that already know one-another.  This will make for easier, more relaxed conversation.  Of course, there are times when there may be a family riff that should be considered, separating member that may not get along.

Friends and other invitees should be assigned seating based on how they know the couple or the bride and groom individually.  For example, college friends should sit together since they most often are already acquainted.  Taking the time to think this through and plan to seat guests together that already know one another can make the event much more comfortable for everyone.

Assigning Seats or Tables

It can be tempting to allow guests to seat themselves at the wedding reception.  This tactic can easily backfire, with stray seats at a table and groups that are not able to sit together.  For a larger reception, over 75 guests, assigned seating will take a lot of the hassle out of settling everyone during dinner.  And let’s be honest, it isn’t unusual for a guest to discreetly swap a seat at a table to sit next to a friend.  This is to be expected and can actually be beneficial for everyone.

Taking the time during the wedding planning to put some thought into the seating can ensure that the reception is a great event not only for the bride and groom, but for their guests as well.
